During Hours Emergency

At Westbay Animal Hospital, we are able to address most pet emergencies during our normal operating hours.

If you feel that your pet is experiencing an emergency or have questions of unsure, please call our office immediately at 941-792-3473 to speak to one of our team members. We will triage your pet’s situation to help determine the next steps for you to follow.

Signs That Your Pet May Be Having An Emergency Include:

  • Difficulty Breathing: Shortness of Breath, Gagging or Choking
  • Shock: Unconsciousness, Shallow Breathing, Confused or Anxious Behavior
  • Bleeding: Excessive or Bleeding That Won’t Stop Within a Few Minutes
  • Not Eating or Drinking
  • Vomiting or Diarrhea That Seems Severe
  • Seizures or Signs of Disoriented Behavior
  • A Sign of Obvious Injury to the Eye(s), Mouth, Limbs or Other Parts of the Body
  • Overheating: Heat Stroke or Signs of Heat Stress
  • Any Signs of Possible Fractures - Broken Bones
  • Poisoning – Ingestion or Exposure to Toxic Products
  • Snakebites
  • Any Indication Your Pet is Experiencing Pain or Cannot Walk or Move
